Our Philosophy

We believe in garden to table eating. No chemicals, nothing artificial, nothing from a box….unless it’s a CSA box! We grow most of our own vegetables during the long growing season here in South Florida. We can and ferment the left overs for the rest of the year.

We have a close relationship with other like minded people and urban farms in our area so we know who, where, and how our produce is grown. We aren’t vegetarians or even vegans, we are omnivores. We just choose to eat the best quality organic milk, eggs, produce, grass fed organic meats as we can possibly find and afford. We feel living this way not only keeps us healthy but helps the environment and local businesses as well.

Our Story

Our search for local, unadulterated foods led us to this madness. After we got the whole organic gardening thing down, it was time to make some cheese! So we went on a hunt for REAL milk. Louise made all kinds of cheeses for years and we couldn’t consume it fast enough. In 2008 Louise suddenly became ill with a gluten intolerance and that was what led to the opening of the restaurant, Weezie’s Kitchen. We had the restaurant for 6 years and we also produced produce for that. Most customers didn’t even know that the produce on their plates was grown between a 1-15 mile radius from the restaurant, or that everything in the restaurant was made from scratch.

Besides gardening we also do fermentation, make our own cheeses, sauerkraut, and yogurt, sausage and pickles. We are NOT a business, just a couple of individuals who believe in doing the right thing and love the environment. We believe if everyone did this just a little bit, or traded services for goods, the world would be a much better place to live. We now do demonstrations at local farms and gardening centers and Louise teaches cooking classes for those with Celiac disease and gluten intolerance in their homes.

Meet the Team

It really takes a village and we are so lucky to have such great people and friends who support what we do. This is who we are. We will occasionally feature local environmentalists, farmers, etc with their permission. We do NOT sell advertising on this space to anyone.
